About Adrienne
Adrienne Grecco is a Toronto-based oil painter whose work is inspired by the landscapes, gardens, and quiet moments that shape everyday life.
Growing up on 10 acres between a strawberry farm and a truck farm in rural Ontario, Adrienne developed an early appreciation for colour, changing seasons, and the natural world. Her mother, an art teacher, encouraged creativity from a young age, fostering a lifelong connection to visual storytelling.

Before turning her focus to painting, Adrienne studied graphic design at Durham College in 2003 and worked in both design and photography. These experiences continue to influence her approach to composition, light, and visual balance.
Working primarily in oil paint, Adrienne creates expressive landscapes and still lifes using saturated colour, layered brushwork, and simplified forms. Rather than pursuing exact realism, she is interested in capturing the feeling of a place, the warmth of afternoon light, the memory of a familiar road, or the fleeting beauty of flowers in bloom.
As a mother of two, painting has become both a creative practice and a way of preserving moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Through her work, Adrienne invites viewers to slow down and experience familiar subjects through colour, atmosphere, and emotion.

Artist Statement

I use oil paint to explore how colour, light, and form can suggest a subject without relying on exact representation. Rather than focusing on realism, I am interested in capturing the atmosphere and overall impression of a place or object.
Working primarily from landscapes and still life, I use saturated colour, layered brushwork, and simplified forms to transform familiar subjects into vivid visual experiences. My paintings are shaped by both observation and intuition, balancing structure with spontaneity.
My background in graphic design and photography continues to influence the way I approach composition, contrast, and shifting light. I am drawn to images that hold a sense of familiarity while still leaving space for interpretation.
Through painting, I aim to create work that feels immersive, expressive, and rich in colour and movement.
